Why We Created the RBBI Future Professionals Scholarship
At Riverside Barber & Beauty Institute, we believe education has the power to change lives. Every year, our Back To School Event brings our community together by providing free haircuts, school supplies, and valuable resources to help students start the school year with confidence.
As we planned this year's event, we asked ourselves an important question:
How could we make an even greater impact?
The answer inspired the creation of the RBBI Future Professionals Scholarship.
While free haircuts and school supplies help students prepare for the school year, we wanted to create an opportunity that could help change the course of someone's future. This scholarship represents our commitment to investing in the next generation of barbers, cosmetologists, nail technicians, and beauty professionals who are passionate about building a meaningful career.
Through this scholarship, one deserving applicant will receive a full tuition scholarship to attend Riverside Barber & Beauty Institute, helping remove one of the biggest barriers to pursuing a professional education. (The scholarship covers tuition; the recipient is responsible for their student kit and TDLR licensing and examination fees.)
The RBBI Future Professionals Scholarship is more than a financial award—it's an investment in determination, resilience, and the future of our community. We know that talent can be found everywhere, but opportunities are not always equally accessible. Our goal is to recognize someone who has overcome challenges, has a genuine desire to succeed, and is ready to take the next step toward a rewarding career in the barber and beauty industry.
This scholarship is proudly connected to our annual Back To School Event because both initiatives share the same purpose: giving back, creating opportunities, and strengthening our community. Whether we're providing a child with a fresh haircut for the first day of school or helping a future professional begin their career, we are committed to empowering people through education, service, and opportunity.

What You'll Receive...
🎓 Full Tuition Scholarship
The scholarship covers tuition for an eligible RBBI program.
Student is responsible for:

Who Can Apply?

🎓 Be a high school senior, recent high school graduate, or GED recipient.

🎂 Be at least 17 years old by the start of your program.

💈 Have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in Barbering, Cosmetology, Nail Technology, or Crossover at Riverside Barber & Beauty Institute.

📝 Complete the online scholarship application, including the required essay.

📅 Submit your application by the scholarship deadline.

🎉 Attend the RBBI Annual Back To School Event, where scholarship finalists will be recognized.

🏫 If selected as a finalist, participate in an admissions tour and interview as part of the final selection process.

✅ Meet all admissions requirements for enrollment at Riverside Barber & Beauty Institute.
Please Note: Selection as a scholarship finalist does not guarantee receipt of the scholarship. The scholarship recipient will be chosen after the finalist interview process. The scholarship covers tuition only. The recipient is responsible for the required student kit and TDLR licensing and examination fees.

Admissions Tour & Interviews
Finalists will tour the campus and undergo an individual interview from August 9 - 30.
Winner Selected
Winner will be selected on September 15, 2026
Winner will be able to start school for the 2027 school year.
